Designing a 35 × 50

A 29 ft width is 13 + 3.5 + 12.5. That passage is what lets bedrooms open off a lobby instead of off the dining, which is the single biggest jump in how a house feels.

With 1160 sq ft on the ground floor you can afford a 15 ft hall. Do not go past 17 ft in the other direction unless you have windows on two walls.
